1. Mount Bromo Sunrise Tour
Mount Bromo is located within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, home to the Tenggerese people who still preserve their Hindu traditions and culture. The area is famous for its cool to cold temperatures and dramatic volcanic scenery.
The main highlight of Mount Bromo is its spectacular sunrise, combined with a vast sea of sand and surrounding mountain ranges. The best viewpoint to enjoy sunrise is Mount Penanjakan.
To reach Penanjakan, which stands at approximately 2,770 meters above sea level, visitors are required to use a 4x4 Jeep driven by an experienced local driver. This is necessary due to the wide sandy terrain and rugged volcanic tracks.
Tumpak Sewu Waterfall of the most impressive waterfalls in Indonesia and offers a refreshing natural atmosphere. The temperature here is cool and pleasant, although not as cold as Mount Bromo, which can reach 10–15°C.
Often referred to as the “Thousand Waterfalls” or “Curtain Waterfall,” Tumpak Sewu features a massive semicircular flow of water cascading down lush green cliffs. From the base of the waterfall, visitors are strongly encouraged to explore Goa Tetes Cave, located nearby.
The journey can continue to Kapas Biru Waterfall, just 10–15 minutes away by vehicle. Before leaving the area, enjoy a relaxing coffee break at Teras Semeru, offering a scenic view of Mount Semeru, the highest and still-active volcano on Java Island.
3. Ijen Crater
Ijen Crater is a favorite destination among international travelers due to its more challenging trekking route compared to Mount Bromo and Tumpak Sewu. Mount Ijen stands at approximately 2,368 meters above sea level.
Its main attraction is the rare Blue Fire phenomenon, which can only be seen in a few places in the world. In addition, Ijen features a massive turquoise-colored sulfur lake, creating an exotic and almost surreal landscape.
